Old-Time Music from the Gulf Coast of Florida

The Fiddle Crabs play and sing music from an earlier time. We humbly opine that the American music of the 19th and early 20th century is far superior to anything heard today. Traditional fiddle tunes, heart songs, minstrel music, Civil War songs, all the variations on those themes have a quality and strength which sustain their relevance up to now and beyond. In short, they are fun to play and sing. That's what we do!

The Fiddle Crabs are experienced performers of American traditional music. Mary and Les Caraher have played for numerous Civil War reinactment square dances and teas in the last twenty years and Craig has performed in Old-time string bands for many years as well. The Fiddle Crabs have been together for two years presenting programs of Civil War music up and down the south-west coast of Florida.
